Stakeholder Participation
A major component of the Kaweah MLRP Program focuses on outreach and engagement with communities and farmers in the Kaweah Subbasin to integrate their feedback into the program’s development. Outreach and engagement efforts began in July 2023, which included meetings with diverse stakeholder groups to inform them about the MLRP and invite their feedback. A Stakeholder Advisory Committee was formed in September 2023, which continues to play an important role providing input on various elements of the program such as project selection criteria, project selections, and regional monitoring and planning processes.

Additional ongoing outreach efforts also include outdoor educational opportunities for youth, curriculum development that aims to educate youth in disadvantaged communities on water issues, and opportunities for community members to engage in citizen science by monitoring nitrate and water quality in local households. Outreach Materials
Below are some informational materials developed for the Kaweah MLRP, including flyers in both English and Spanish and a Statement of Purpose for the Stakeholder Advisory Committee. The Committee plays an important role in shaping the Kaweah MLRP, helping to inform how our community can address the need to reduce water use while maintaining natural and working lands and providing community benefits.
